Lights Out by Daphne Jaaback

Running late for the evening date

In case her husband should her berate

In the car with the greatest haste

Lipstick on and special eye paste

Alas she did an error make

The light was poor and her hand did shake

Green eye shadow across her lips

A crimson glow embraced eye tips

Reaching destination for product presentation

Her husband alighted in some agitation

Out of character he did proclaim

My dear, you do not look the same

This remark did make her start

And the mirror too did make her start

A vision crude she espied in there

And was able to make the rapid repair.

This was a real life occurrence, close to home!

Great story-line Daphne. Proves you can write a poem about any subject with just a little imagination.
